Flowers & Smiles

The kids and I hit Trader Joe’s again for a variety of spring flowers ($7 or less in honor of Blake’s 7th birthday) and took them over to the local Senior Living home. We handed them out to everyone sitting in the gathering space, brightening the room with flowers and smiles. One woman had her eye on the yellow tulips and really wanted to chat with Matthew and Lila about school and activities. She had been a teacher “4 million years ago” and we all shared some happy tears.

Afterward Lila mentioned how good it felt to bring flowers to share, and we talked about how much we personally get out of doing things for other people. Thanks, Blake, for bringing so many smiles to us today.
